Police release photo of jewelry in hopes of identifying woman’s remains

Police this morning asked for public help in identifying a woman whose bones were found in a barrel Friday in Kansas City, Kan.

They released a picture of three rings and a necklace the woman was wearing, as well as other details about her. Two of the rings were white or silver metal rings and the third was a gold or white metal band.

The woman was white, 5 feet and 5 inches tall, and she wore a dark brown wig and artificial fingernails, police said. Her teeth were in fair condition and she had a large bone structure.

The remains appear from 4 to 15 years old.
