Craigslist Sex Trafficker Gets 25 Years to Life

The Queens man who “bought” a homeless teen and pimped her out on Craigslist was handed a sentence of 25 years to life yesterday. “You are a con man of the first order,” Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise told David Brown. “I’m going to do my best to insure that you never see the light of day again.” Brown took naked pictures of the 19-year-old, who’s been described as “vulnerable,” and posted them on the web classifieds. His terrible scheme worked for a time—she was forced into sex with 30 men over 12 days in August 2008, with her captor getting payments ranging from $60-200.

Brown “purchased” the woman for $2,000 from an ex-girlfriend, whom he tried to blame for his misdeeds. “I did not do the crime,” he said. “This was straight jealousy from an old girlfriend that I left. I never touched [the victim.] I never kidnapped her.” According to the DA he threatened to beat and “cut her body” if she ever left his apartment or talked to friends and family, and hunted her down when she escaped. The 32-year-old was convicted on charges of sex trafficking and kidnapping, reports the Daily News. His lengthy sentence was the first doled out under former-Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s stringent 2007 sex-trafficking law.
