Four years and still no suspect in Shellie Carson killing

VIRGINIA BEACH – Four years ago August 14, 18-year-old Mary Rachel “Shellie” Carson was found dead in some bushes not far from her home in Kings Grant. Her bicycle was nearby.

The case remains open as leads have gone cold.

While Va. Beach Police continue working on the case, Carson’s family remains hopeful her killer will be brought to justice.

She’s never far from their thoughts.

“I’m not sure you ever completely heal, but there’s a constant reminder almost every day, every hour of day, that something comes up that reminds you of your daughter’s death,” said her father, Bill Carson.

Mr. Carson believes the killer could still be in the community.

A private reward of up to $40,000 was being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Shellie’s killer. That’s on top of the up to $1000 offered by Crime Solvers.

  1. I think the killers are still here or have returned here from college maybe. I do believe that people will start talking, I think some of the ones responsible are scared to talk but they will. Has anyone considered that maybe Rachel had seen something at the 7 eleven that maybe she shouldn’t have seen. I think the person at 7 eleven has more to do with it than he is telling, he knows more he has to. This girl was treated like trash and it took more than one person to do this. These people are usless and should be considered trash that need to be picked up and dumped like they did Shelley. To those that did this I will find you, if it takes forever. I think I already know who you are and you know that I know so don’t get to comfortable because just when you think all is forgotten is when the boys will come for you. Running gets tiresome and running will have to happen because some girls/women don’t ever get tired of trying to find gutless pieces of trash like you. Keep looking for a place to hide, no place like home, told you I would find you. The people that did this are being protected probably parents with money are keeping them quiet for now but just like idiots they get drunk and start talking.
